Hello my blogging friends. I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas! Sorry I have been neglecting you..(ha!) but I have been playing with my new Christmas present. How about me being able to post pictures to my blog ::bowing:: And if that wasn't good enough, now I am the proud owner of my own domain name!! www.averynoble.com My friend Jake Cantrell hooked me up and now I am on my way to total computer domination. (I thought I was going to slowly but surely oust Scott--but now I am thinking Beach--better watch your back!!) Have a good night. My butt is sore from sitting on the Little Tykes chair that goes with the corresponding Little Tykes desk I have my computer sitting on--so I must turn in!!

Hope you all are having a memorable Christmas and that you are traveling safely.

Prayers Please

My sister-in-law Tracey (married to my older brother Mitch--they live in Norman --3 adorable kids) had a MRI today on some spots they found during her annual mammogram. They called her back this evening and she has to go in for a biopsy tomorrow morning. She is completely 'freaked out' (who wouldn't be??) Please remember her in your prayers this evening/morning.

I am so thankful that I have so many friends who are 'prayer warriors.' You have weathered me through many a storm when I did not know how to pray. (That goes for you too Cherylina!!) How great is our God who will let others intercede for us when we are ' freaked out ' or when we are just afraid to pray for God's will to be done. (does that even make sense to anyone--does to me--I can remember praying fervently for Mike Dicus to be healed--NOT for God's will to be done..it was a phrase I couldn't ever wrap my brain around--still have problems with that one)
Anyway--thanks in advance for the prayers that I know will be offered for Tracey. Love you all.
Good Night--
TK

Roz--hope it doesn't snow us out tomorrow--or worse--hope it doesn't snow out your trip to New Mexico.. Avery will be really sad if she sees anything less that 8 inches of the white stuff tomorrow--she has been teaching Noble how to make snow angels all night :)

9-1-1

I feel icky. Now I am channeling Vanessa (just kidding vanilla wafer). Seriously, I think my throat is going to explode and I may die in my sleep, aspirating on Chloraseptic.

My day was great though. Avery and I had a wonderful time seeing The Nutcracker in OKC. We had front-row-Joe tickets. Avery could pat the orchestra conductor on the head if she so desired. We have made this our little mom-daughter holiday extravaganza the last 3 years. We go with Amy and her two adorable girls, Kate and Caroline. This year Amy brought a little friend that moved when she ate. (sorry aim--had to say it)

Kurt and Elisa had a beautiful wedding. I bawled like a little baby the whole way through. Especially when Kurt got choked up saying his vows. Maybe I was crying because I was afraid of what Kurt would do to me if Pip messed with his car that was at my house. (thanks thomas-confidant extraordinaire--don't get your panties ((sorry bryan laramore)) in a wad, I am just joking) By the way, if anyone drives by and thinks I 'just got hitched'--it's not my car.

I HAVE to be better tomorrow..it is Avery's Christmas program at Asbury. We can all remember what a debacle the Veterans Day program was.

It was lovely knowing all of you--i am going to bed.

Roadie Wannabe

I don't know what is worse... that every one of you think I attended a Garth Brooks concert, or the fact that yes, I actually did. I was going to OSU in the early nineties and I think it was mandatory. My little white lie was Blink 182. The others were all great concerts. There is something about going to hear a 'live' band. (As opposed to lip-synching--although I have seen my fair share of those also)

The first concert I ever went to was Chicago.(Mike Lawson can do a mean version of Saturday in the Park on the piano--maybe he will do it for us --as long as David promises not to kick him)

I took my niece Carly to see 'N-Sych (twice). Both times I was pregnant. I think that might go a long way in explaining why Avery and Noble are like they are. The second time was in Dallas and I was 6 months along with Noble. The hotel we stayed at advertised that they were walking distance from Texas Stadium. What they didn't advertise was that you had to shimmy down an underpass with cars zooming ahead. I am surprised DHS didn't intervene right then.

Other notables include Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, The Moody Blues, The Eagles, Britney (am I really admitting to this one) Spears, Dave Matthews, Elton John, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Steve Miller Band, Color Me Badd (he he-Amy and Kiah start singing 'I Wanna Sex You Up...) took my other niece Lindsey to that one. Although not a country fan..I have seen the big ones. George Strait, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis etc. etc.

Another favorite concert memory was when Amy tried to get all of the Ford Center to do the wave during The Dixie Chicks. People even threw popcorn at us.

Regrets--I was supposed to go see Stevie Ray Vaughn, but instead opted to study for finals...he died that summer.

Kiah and I have seen Michael W Smith (a couple of times), Third Day, Amy Grant,Mark Schultz, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Britney (calling YOU out now Kiah) Spears,Newsboys, Rebecca St James..(ooh wait that one was with my sister Stacy) what am I forgetting Kia?? Oh, I know..Blues Clues!

Lest I forget The Wiggles (also twice) , and everyones favorite dinosaur --Barney-- who puts on one mean stage show.

Sorry to bore you all, but this has been fun for me. And if anyone wants any Christmas ideas..
Van Morrison is still on my 'to see' list.

TK

ooh, oooh, I almost forgot...Vanilla Ice!!! Ice, Ice Baby!!!
another--Tone Loc....Funky Cold Medina!!!

A little tougher...

Kudos to all who guessed Shania Twain....I CANNOT BELIEVE my own sister, Stacy--the same sister that took me to see The Highway Men (front row I might add), made me stake out Willie Nelson's bus (just like Lucy and Ethel), had her little sister watch while Willie Nelson gave her an autograph in an unlady-like place...would think I am not a fan!!! Willie rocks!!!!

Ahhhhhh, I love a good concert...ask anyone. Maybe that would make a good game. Tell me young grasshoppers..which concert is the lie?

1. Pearl Jam
2. Garth Brooks
3. Lenny Kravitz
4. Blink 182
5. Fleetwood Mac

Round 2.....

How about CD's that I own (& listen to) or not......

1. Caedmon's Call -- Back Home
2. Willie Nelson -- Stardust
3. Outkast -- The Love Below/Speakerboxxx
4. Eric Clapton -- The Cream of Clapton
5. Shania Twain -- Greatest Hits

Friday, December 10, 2004

And the winner is.....

1. Snowball never had puppies although I prayed diligently EVERY night.

2. Thank you to everyone who thought I could not have possibly been called 'double zero'..but I most certainly was. (I was THE VERY LAST ONE in my class to , oh how should I put it...let's just say 'reach puberty'.

3. Anyone who knows me would know that I would not have gone on a sr trip to port aransas because of the aforementioned ' lack of puberty' and the most definite bikini wearing that was sure to go on. (and i slept with a skunk..not a giraffe)

4. Thank you party-pooper Thomas for bringing to my attention that I did not actually 'burn the house down' with pop tarts. It was what we like to call in my family.."A Blackburn Round" (Blackburn being my maiden name and round signifying a slight over-dramatization of the truth) But I did torch a toaster and a few cabinets and had to go to school smelling like a breakfast pastry. For years afterward, and still to this day, I am known as pop-tart in some circles. So I guess points to Thomas for that one..(begrudgingly)

5. And now my favorite: I was very proud of my Sweet Pickles stuffed animal town. I had a post office, mayor, church, grocery store, etc... what can I say, I was bored...

Tuesday, December 07, 2004

OK, I'll play....

1. I had a dog named Snowball and I prayed for HIM every night to have puppies
2. My nickname in junior high was 'double zero'
3. I had a giraffe named smedley that I slept with up until high school, when I lost him on our senior trip to port aransas
4. I once burned the kitched down cooking Pop-Tarts
5. I had a stuffed animal town dubbed 'Sweet Pickles'

they are all rather embarrassing huh? wish i could say they were all lies...

God's Will or Won't

Have you ever had a problem that you have poured out..(many, many times) to God and you still feel no direction. The kind of problem that brings you to your knees in prayer..the kind of guidance you need in making the big decisions. One day, I will be positive He is leading me to one thing..then the next- it is entirely something different. It makes me question how well I know myself..and how well I know my God. What is He trying to tell me? Figuring out God's will for my life--I see that written on the prayer request board at the UCM all the time. College students wanting to know what direction to take their life. What if you think you had your life planned and it gets changed on you...

I see God's hand in everything that happens to me..I truly do. He is so merciful and forgiving..when I am so rotten. I have been blessed many times over, I just need some guidance in my life right now. Do you ever pray so much for something that it starts to get all muddled in your mind? I need big black-n-white answers...no more gray. Maybe that is what makes it so hard. Actually, I need a big neon sign to appear over my house tonight in my sleep.

OK--so if you all could pray about that tonight, and get back with me regarding what God has told YOU I should do with my life, then I would appreciate it. :)

Just kidding...I was channeling aaron there for a minute and I didn't want everyone worried...
(just kidding aaron--you know I love you--and by the way...I thought the same thing when I read amy's blog too!! stay away!!)

Great ! *dripping with sarcasm*

The problem with talking your sister-in-law into starting a blog, is that you will usually have the same things to talk about. And how many times can we be regaled by tales of a childrens birthday party. Although, I would like to add a big thank you to Kurt and Elisa for making the trek out to the festivities. (Apologies again for no 'hey you!! here is where the birthday party is' balloons) Anyway, like Kia Sophia said, all went well--and yes, Noble sat in the dirt with his bulldozer and dug for the full two hours. (aside: what is it with me and nicknames?? i refuse to call people by their real names? Kia-Sophia, Nappa, Cherylina, Boggles, SheriDAN, Danielle, TuPack, EDnI, I could go on and on....)

I hear the bus...will continue later..

COCOA

I cannot believe my baby is going to be three on Saturday. It seems like yesterday I was screaming for more drugs. ( I am not reliving my wild days, just the one were I longed for an epidural..by the way, Thomas-you would have NO problem having that big needle stuck in your back if you knew it would take away the excrutiating pain that is childbirth)

He has been the most marvelous baby. Took him forever to sleep through the night, but at some point I began to literally take care of him in MY sleep. You adjust. Who knows, I am probably still waking up at three and giving him a bottle? He is my snuggly baby. He loves to be held, read to, kissed on, hugged. He also likes to swat, pinch, kick and bite. (Pip, I am TERRIBLY, TERRIBLY sorry about the bite tonight at the Spaghetti Supper--he gets excited and just chomps down--ouch!)

The boy has had a car in his hands at all times since I can remember. He has never had a 'snuggly'...he has had Hot Wheels. I find them all over the place..in my pockets, in my purse, at the UCM, in my bed, in the refrigerator..... My favorite is when he sleeps with me and I roll over and can hear them all colliding with one another, or with me.

Saturday, he and Grace are having a Cowboy Birthday party. Real live pony rides, stick horse barrell racing, boot cookies, and hats and bandanas for the little ones. Mark my words, he will take a car..(actually he has a thing for construction equipment also) scratch that--he will take a dump truck, sit in the dirt for hours and dig. Grace will hold court looking like the lovely 4 year old cowgirl princess that she is..and Noble will be trying to eat mud pies. Somebody dare and tell me there is not a difference in little boys and girls...

I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this sweet angel.
